The Holy Feasts: Their Prophetic Fulfillment in Yahshua Messiah

The Holy Feasts: Their Prophetic Fulfillment in Yahshua Messiah

  • All feasts (Spring and Fall) fulfilled through Yahshua.
  • Showing Scripture for how each one is already fulfilled

The feasts of Elohim, outlined in the Torah, are not merely Jewish observances. They are prophetic declarations, fulfilled perfectly in Yahshua Messiah through His life, death, resurrection, and outpouring of the Word. Every appointed time Spring and Fall has found its fulfillment in Him according to Scripture, confirming the unchanging plan of Elohim.

The Spring Feasts: Fulfilled by Yahshua Messiah

1. Passover (Pesach) — 14th Day of the First Month

Commanded:

"In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD's passover."
— Leviticus 23:5 (KJV)

Fulfillment:

"The next day John seeth Yahshua coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."
— John 1:29 (KJV)

"For even Messiah our passover is sacrificed for us."
— 1 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV)

Explanation:
Yahshua, the Lamb without blemish, offered His blood for the redemption of sinners precisely on Passover, fulfilling the type foreshadowed in Egypt.

2. Unleavened Bread — 15th to 21st Day of the First Month

Commanded:

"And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread."
— Leviticus 23:6 (KJV)

Fulfillment:

"Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth."
— 1 Corinthians 5:8 (KJV)

Explanation:
Yahshua's sinless life is symbolized by unleavened bread. In His burial, He fulfilled the sanctification and separation from sin represented by this feast.

3. Firstfruits — Day After the Sabbath During Unleavened Bread

Commanded:

"And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it."
— Leviticus 23:11 (KJV)

Fulfillment:

"But now is Messiah risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept."
— 1 Corinthians 15:20 (KJV)

Explanation:
Yahshua's resurrection on the day of Firstfruits fulfills the offering of the first ripe sheaf, securing the promise of the resurrection for all who believe.

4. Pentecost (Feast of Weeks) — Fifty Days After Firstfruits

Commanded:

"Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD."
— Leviticus 23:16 (KJV)

Fulfillment:

"And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting."

— Acts 2:1–2 (KJV)

Explanation:
On Pentecost, Yahshua poured out the Spirit — the Word (John 6:63) — fulfilling the promise and empowering His called-out assembly (ecclesia) to walk in the New Covenant.

The Fall Feasts: Also Fulfilled by Yahshua Messiah

5. Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah) — 1st Day of the Seventh Month

Commanded:

"Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation."
— Leviticus 23:24 (KJV)

Fulfillment:

"And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."
— Matthew 24:31 (KJV)

"For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."
— 1 Corinthians 15:52 (KJV)

Explanation:
Yahshua, after His resurrection, announced the gathering of His elect through the Gospel. The trumpet represents the call to repentance, salvation, and the assembling of His people, which began after His ascension.

6. Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) — 10th Day of the Seventh Month

Commanded:

"Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD."
— Leviticus 23:27 (KJV)

Fulfillment:

"But Messiah being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands...
Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us."

— Hebrews 9:11–12 (KJV)

Explanation:
Through His blood, Yahshua accomplished the true atonement, not symbolically but actually, entering into the heavenly tabernacle and securing eternal redemption.

7. Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) — 15th to 22nd Day of the Seventh Month

Commanded:

"Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD."
— Leviticus 23:34 (KJV)

Fulfillment:

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."
— John 1:14 (KJV)

Explanation:
The term "dwelt" (Greek: tabernacled) in John 1:14 shows that Yahshua fulfilled Tabernacles at His first coming — Elohim in the flesh, living among men. His indwelling Spirit continues the reality of Tabernacles today in the lives of believers.

Conclusion: The Perfection of Yahshua's Fulfillment

The feasts of Elohim declare the complete plan of salvation:

  • Passover — Yahshua's sacrifice.
  • Unleavened Bread — His sinless life and burial.
  • Firstfruits — His resurrection.
  • Pentecost — The outpouring of the Word.
  • Trumpets — The call to salvation.
  • Atonement — The completed work of redemption by His blood.
  • Tabernacles — Elohim dwelling with His people through Yahshua.

As it is written:

"Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it."

— Colossians 2:14–15 (KJV)

And:

"These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice and drink offerings, every thing upon his day."
— Leviticus 23:37 (KJV)

Through the blood of Yahshua Messiah, every shadow has found its substance. The feasts are not future hopes — they are present realities fulfilled in Him, the Lamb of Elohim, the High Priest, and the Tabernacle of Elohim with men.
